REACH 2018: FIND YOUR OWN JOURNEY

This years REACH was a special one, as it marks the 10th Anniversary of RISE Youth Dance!

Held at the Trinity Centre in Bristol, the show attracted over 400 people over 3 days who helped us sell out 4 shows! Preparation for the show began months in advance with all of the team working incredibly hard to make it happen.

Two full weekends of rehearsals, technical and dress rehearsals were called to pull the show together, not an easy task when having to accommodate so many different groups of various ages

REACH 2018 was a beautiful, moving and rewarding show for all, from the audience to the teachers to the performers.

With a growing number of students involved and more volunteers and leader than ever before we had a busy time getting ready back stage!

The first half of the show explored the idea that although we often strive for the same things, we each must find our own way. The dancers have been invited to think about their own journeys, their future opportunities and the decisions they may make.

The second half of the show celebrates the achievements of the company and the young people that have been part of its journey. We have revived some of our favourite pieces from the last 10 years, and invited previous company members on their own journeys, some working as professional dancers or training professionally, to join with the 2018 company.
